Over the 3 year period I was working, I rarely ever slept this much unless it was an off day. However, I'd have more energy. There was a time when I started to do aerobics and eating better. During this period, I had a lot of energy and slept less than 7 hours a day, without difficulty. Also, when I have someplace to be or something to do, I can often get myself up. Its just when I don't that is the trick, getting up for me is difficult.
