I couldn't agree more. I did that and it was an eye opener. I had no idea how caloric bagels and pasta were. For years I blamed my "slow metabolism" while I was eating two bagels ( 400 - 600 calories each ) at a sitting or an entire plate of heaping pasta in a sitting.
