I have been using them for years and find that memorizing is helpful to a point but after a while you get to know the cards and what they signify for you. If I get a certain card that has meant a particular thing in the past, I tend to look at it in the context of what the card has meant before. Not always the textbook meaning, usually something unique to each individual.
I've done a couple of the online readings for fun but I don't think it's as effective as doing a "live" reading for myself or another. Has anyone else tried online Tarot? Ifate.com has a cool reading, any others?
