Dear Remorse,
I understand you completely. I am in a very similar situation. I have lost both my parents. My mother expired few years back and my father is missing. we do not know if he is still alive. I was not close to them. In fact we had severe problems. I have a sister whom I call once a week but we talk like polite strangers. I have no close friends, no relationships.
I have spent almost all my new year eves alone.
I am telling you all this just to let you know that you are not alone.
