this message is over 2 years old but it's good to hear somebody else extolling the virtues of this film. I've pimped Tarkovsky before on these "movie recommendation" threads but sometimes it feels pointless because his stuff is so demanding, where most people are used to movies designed as passive experiences. It's not that his stuff is hard to watch, just completely different from your normal movie going experience. That tends to turn a lot of people off.
