It is not so much being psychic as recognizing the patterns in one's own life.
Don't get me wrong, I think following one's intuition/heart is great for impulse decisions but for life-long stuff I think it just takes a logical mind to know what will happen if one goes down a familiar path.
In this sense I believe that dreams related to 'visions' will likely just be reflecting subconscious knowledge of the information/patterns one already gathered while awake.
Then again, there's a difference between predicting something really random (is anything really unexpected anymore?) and wasting one's time worrying how the future will be.
Devil's Advocate here and I'm basically saying that if a person has only 15 minutes to either draw some cards/tea for a vision or spend that time planning out some fun/important goals...I'd go with the latter. Less paranoia or waiting for the world to align for you and more motivation to make that future that was imagined.
