I wish I had an extended family that could all gather together in ridiculous festive clothing and chuckle in clusters while I sit back and watch the whole affair. Instead I'll spend it with my lonely and aging mother, my sister and a few other siblings who are too busy to stick around like they used to.
It's times like these that I wish I weren't so passive at gatherings. Hey maybe I'll come out of my shell. I'll report with my findings.
