Because I find holiday music to be of exceptionally poor quality (jingle bells, jingle bell rock, silent night, we wish you a merry christmas, oh xmas tree), morose in nature (chestnuts roasting on an open fire - happy words but mopey tones), incredibly sappy (away in a manger, it's beginning to feel a lot like Xmas), passive aggressive (Have yourself a merry little christmas, (you loser)), boring and repetitive (no-el no-el no-el no-el and 12 days of xmas, little drummer boy), commercial and greed-filled (all the santa claus songs) or just plain dishonest ("I'll be home for christmas, but only in my dreams" -- f*** you, that means you WON'T be home for christmas).
Oh, and PLEASE ... if I have to hear Elvis or Sinatra singing another cutesy carol, I am going to puke up a gallon of eggnog. There is nothing worse than Elvis or Sinatra holiday songs -- I would rather have scabies.
And it's EVERYWHERE. It's awful. It's the most horrible time of the year (that's a christmas carol joke, in case you missed it.)
