This is why I typically work with the Mal's cart. It allows me the freedom to incorporate the cart into my existing web pages meaning I'm not locked into a template structure which is not only constricting but also usually lacks in the ability to build W3C compliant and search engine friendly pages. Although some newer carts are getting better in the SEO department.
