You get sore from doing 10-15 sets per workout? Damn, you must be a beginner :P

5x5 is a popular beginning routine, because it works. It's as hard as you make it. Strength training + HIIT will burn fat (ever seen a fat Olympic lifter in the not-overweight-class? Or sprinter? I haven't), if your nutrition is on par.
