What a great article, Steve. Like so many others have said, this hits home for me. I particularly liked the part where you asked who would be upset if you stopped doing what you're doing. Though I'm the best employee doing what I'm doing at my company, I doubt I'd be terribly missed if I quit. On the other hand, if I stopped writing and posting new chapters of my serial novel, I know a number of people who would be very upset, and there are probably more people than I know of specifically!

I noticed that this article has a very similar message to that in your earlier article "Making Money Consciously." However, this one is clearer, more positive, and less controversial. I suspect that's the effect of the juice feast.

The hard part for me is to not think about earning money. I guess I will try to focus on writing the best story I can and getting it to as many people as I can, and stop checking to see if people have sent me any donations!

ETA: Paul, you were posting at the same time I was, and I just want to say I think that's a great post. If you read the thread on "Making Money Consciously," your point is illustrated very clearly. So many people are confused or arguing that Steve must be wrong because their Ego's ideas of what is value is different from society's idea. You put it very well.
