I think the most important part of this particular article, rather obviously is the 'creating value' and then 'providing it' - but I want to focus on the value part for a moment, especially in regards to being just another drop in the sea.
For example, aside from Steve there are thousands of other blogs that deal with personal productivity, conciousness, etc., etc. If you want to follow in his footsteps and also create a blog about similar things, then that's well and good, but you should really, seriously think: What value can you create that he and others don't? How can you provide that value in a way that will get you noticed in the sea of thousands of others like you?
There is value, obviously, in creating value; but be wary of repeating value that already exists. This applies to other things too, for example, at random, car blogs. There are many of them, some more successful than others - if you mean to create your own, and become financially and etc successful at it, you can't simply repeat what others are doing. You have to create *new* value, *different* value, and then provide it in a way that will get *noticed* - and that, I'm worried, is something that not a lot of people are doing.
For example, aside from stevepavlina.com, I see many other personal development websites and blogs, and more and more every day - and it can be a great an exciting thing to do and start for yourself. However, I also notice that the great majority of them offer nothing new or different, and fear that people expecting success by simply (knowingly or not) repeating what others do, without providing anything new, will... well, become part of the background noise.
