I think you are misunderstanding what he is saying. Steve is saying in that article to focus on creating and delivering value which in turn will bring you financial abundance. He's saying don't just try to focus on money i.e. don't fairy tale wish for it without doing anything in return.
I have to disagree with Steve partly in this article. If you are intending money, and feeling as if you have it, vibrationally you are in a good state to attract it and/or things that match up with that vibration. Just look at how much money myself and others have manifested since this experiment started. Also, this will help to replace old negative thinking patterns about abundance and success.
