If we were all living at this level consistently, we wouldn't create so much garbage to deal with in the first place. How valuable can something be if we feel the urge to chuck it in a landfill? Maybe the mistake was made somewhere upstream, and the excess garbage is just the downstream manifestation.
Human beings lived quite a number of years without the need for garbage trucks.
