Caf-Naps
There's a trick to these. Drink a cola or strong cup of coffee. Then immediately nap for no longer than 15-20 minutes. It takes that long for the caffeine to kick into your system. You'll wake up revived and refreshed.
Also, make sure that your exercise is, if possible, outside in the sunshine. Much, much better than a gym treadmill for building alertness.
