Then keep in mind it usually takes about 15-20 minutes to fully "wake up" again. During that time I usually drink some water and do something like email which doesn't require a lot of attention but does help wake me up and get my mind moving.

It sounds inefficient due to the 'wakeup' time, but the boost of energy is HUGE in the hours afterwards. I'd even consider taking a couple power naps throughout the night.
