Well, the job security thing really hit home for me this morning. Someone in my immediate team got cut.
My immediate team has only 7 people (or rather, 6 now).
In classic bank style, he was given immediate notice. Escorted straight out of the building and his security pass, login passwords etc etc were immediately disabled. This is standard bank procedure, to protect confidential info, but it's quite brutal on the poor guy.
Actually I never saw the guy at all this morning. By the time I got to office, he was gone.
On the positive side, the rest of my immediate team is safe for now (I guess ... that's what my boss's boss told me anyway).
