Gateway voyage
I thought I'd share more about my experience on the Gateway Voyage this summer.
As Chris mentioned above, the group dynamic and coaching did make a big difference. what over activities did you do apart from listening to the tracks, were they mainly individual exercises that you do by your self, or group orientated.
We had ample time to share our experiences inbetween the listening sessions, meals were also quite drawn out which gave extra time to talk things over. I am very grateful for my fellow partipants. As the course was in Europe, there were people from several different countries and very varied backgrounds and ages.
The listening sessions themselves were individual but an experiment was carried out by members of our group to try and "meet up" during the session. I think one of them was partially sucessful.
Another that I felt was very important was the time to relax and exercise after lunch. As the course was in Spain (in a villa, outside of Madrid) we followed the siesta pattern. We had a pool, so it was really good to be able to do a few laps after all the sitting/lying down listening to the sessions.
Also resident at the villa was a Giant Schnauzer who really helped to ground me, and others, at night and between sessions. It was good to have a dog around to bring you back down to earth.
I have only attended the Monroe Institute in Spain but based on my experience I would really recommend it. I am seriously thinking about doing another course there next year.
I still have my notes/information from the course but as I have recently moved things are a little muddled at the moment. If you have any other questions, I'll be happy to try and answer them.
Cheers,
Rob
