My favorite form of exersise has always been walking outdoors. It's free, it requires no fancy equipment, you can do it anytime (unless it's snowing or thundering), you get the benefit of fresh air and it satisfies my urge to get out and go somewhere. Unlike walking around a track, it never gets boring even if you walk in the same neighborhood every day, because people are doing something different every day. As quin mentioned, you may get to see something beautiful (or smell it or hear it). As Silver Fire Prime mentioned, hills are good for making you feel like you've worked harder. You could use a treadmill and listen to nice music. I used to have a ski machine with which you could buy movies that make it look like you really are skiing in the mountains. My second favorite form of exersise is Curves (just for women). It's easy to learn, and they give you a lot of support.
