This is an EXCELLENT trial. It will train your mind to be more optimistic, and odds are you'll start feeling better about life in general.
Instead of just not complaining, when I shifted to a more positive life, I made it a point to give out compliments to those around me. Compliments are free, so why not give them away? People love to be given sincere compliments on their appearance or something good they just did.
I also made it a habit of just talking less about myself. When someone approaches, I'd instead ask them about themselves, their day, or their weekend rather than vent my own frustrations at them.
The world becomes a more interesting place when I focus more on those around me and less on my own feelings.
