Alternate words and images that popped into my head as I read your post:
Activator - as in jump-starting other people into action
Booster - as in giving someone a boost. The image of this I have is of someone lacing his fingers together to form a stirrup to boost someone else onto a horse bareback. The rider could jump on without help, but it's much easier for both her and the horse if she gets a boost!
