Especially if you try something and it creates some form of positive emotion you become less able to judge whether it's harmful because you get baised.

A better maxim might be: Don't judge anything till you have read peer reviewed articles about it your have done objective reaserch about it.

Talking about this in terms of “bad news” or “bad judgment by business leaders” seems archaic. It’s like describing World War One as “a serious diplomatic concern.”
