The processor in question wasn't supported by the bios with came right out of the factory (and it didn't came with a CD that has an actual bios).
A problem like that isn't easy to understand. The fact that you think it's outside the realm of possibility probably means that you wouldn't have even considered it as possible problem when you put the parts together and those didn't work.
