I recognise the study habits you describe in myself - or how I used to be. I was typically an 'all or nothing' type. I've learned to identify what I really love - & do that to the best of my ability. The rest I've just learned 'to do'.
For me the hardest thing was the stress & worry I felt about procrastinating. This was worse than the actual doing. Another thing I do if there is a deadline - I tell myself it's due 2 days before the real date. This give me time to do the 'perfectionist' fix & get that last minute adrenaline feeling.
