Default Meeting new people, what are your feelings and conversations like?

When meeting new people, what is your attitude and reaction?

For me it used to be a kind of unease and boredom. I felt anxiety over the person I was meeting, fretted over what we would talk about, felt like I had to propel the conversation, and only picked safe/boring topics.

Now I take it more like hanging out. If I don't have anything much to say I stay silent, and if someone says something like "Bad weather today" I might react with "What has been the best weather of your life?" or something, that is unusual, but at least interesting. I think most people vibe off the novelty and interest in such a question and take it as me being genuinely interested.

What are some of your favorite "meeting people" questions and reactions?
