I'm starting this 'do it yourself' experiment and as I am pretty new to the LOA, I'd appreciate if someone could help me with some questions. I know that some things are individual and what works for one person doesn't necessarily have to be the best way for someone else, but I'd like to hear your experience.
First, I printed all advice/ instructions given here, and I decided to start with intending just a good day at work. In order to get to alpha state I chose two methods: counting from 100 to 1 and breathing exercise ( those nine times). I didn't expect to be able to pull it off perfectly the first time ( and I didn't

), my mind kept wandering off, different thoughts kept 'attacking me' but I continued anyway. I'm not worried about that I know it takes practice.
Here's my question, has anyone ever listened to music while trying to get into alpha state? I have some songs that really improve my mood when I feel down, they fill me with energy and positive emotions. So I was wondering if it's necessary to be quiet during the visualization? I thought it would be a good thing to be filled with positive energy during my visualization.
I feel like I can focus better, as paradoxical as it may sound, but I always listened to music while studying for my exams, I just learned better.
Second, I chose 4 areas of my life which I'd like to improve and decided to do my visualization/intention in the morning. I have 20 minutes at my disposal.
How long ( days, months

) do you intend/visualize for the same thing ? Or do you just do it one time and then just let it go?
