Answers:
1. Successful telepathic communication with a living person is possible but extremely difficult. You would have to somehow find the same frequency and have enough energy/power to cast out a message. I don't know many people who can do this consciously and repeatedly. Do you?
2. Inviting someone into your dream is difficult too, but if you are both skilled at telepathic communication and lucid dreaming you may be able to "meet" up in a dream. You'd have to do a lot of experimentation and practice to make this work. I think picking up a phone is much simpler
