The point is that SOMEONE in this chain of events knew you. And he contacted you. So, yes, it's somewhat improbable that they took you, a rookie. But nothing impossible again.
And the problem with magical IM is that its believers focus on those intentions that GET 'manifested' (after an indefinite amount of time because sometimes the 'Universe' needs time .......) and ignore those who didn't (or as believers like to say: who didn't manifest yet! or maybe they didn't really believe in them anyway and therefore it didn't manifest and yada yada ...).
