jtracy - you pretty much hit the nail on the head. The essence of Curly's Law is One Thing - i.e. choosing what your True Life Purpose is. But from there the concept needs to break down. For example - your true life purpose probably isn't just your career choice, but if you choose one over-riding career path, that is congruous with your True Life Purpose, then you'll be doing yourself a favour. And then this will break down into sections until you get to the level of the immediate task at hand. At this point Curly's Law still applies - just focussing on the one task without distraction is the optimal way to get things done efficiently.
So in fact I find that the great paradox of Curly's Law is that the One Thing is in fact composed of the Many, and vice-versa, because each component defers to the One Thing. You can read more by visiting either
