this is a really interesting topic.
for me it has been a part of my life for as long as i can remember. as a child i used to entertain myself with various philosophical questions, for example: imagining that the universe doesn't exist, experiencing 'nothing'. it was quite a mind fcuk actually, which i really enjoyed.
but what made me start the journey consciously happened one day when i realised that i feel very uneducated. i swapped schools at one point and missed out on a lot of info as my new school had already covered it and my old one hadnt yet.
i felt especially behind in history and one day, i was chatting to a friend and my dad about current events and i realised god, i know nothing compared to these people! i felt so stupid. so i decided i would start learning and teaching myself things if the school wasnt going to. and it sort of led me here.
now i know that im not 'stupid', and i still enjoy learning new things and expanding my awareness, although now its not to have another 'trophy on my shelf', its just because i enjoy the journey. i feel like its just getting started
