Yes, I have heard of Douglas Harding. Alan Watts also talks about not being able to see your own head...you assume you have one because you see other people have heads and you can look in a mirror to see a reflection...but you can never see your own head. Now when you look (or try to be aware) of what is there...there is nothing to that can be said about it and no description. It is not darkness or light or anything.
