I had the understanding that presales count towards the First Week Sales for such lists... but it seems like releasing early will dilute the figures. Of course, we all know that "bestseller" status is meaningless, but I'm sure those stats still affect future sales for many reasons. |
I don't know what the effect would be, but it seems like it would make things pretty kittywompus to have the book releasing at different times online vs. in brick and mortar stores.
In the meantime I get to practice non-attachment to outcomes.
