IM is pretty tricky if you try and research it.
You have to be specific in regards to the outcome, it has to be a "I will have *this*", something along those lines. Steve said he uses things like "I will boost my business sales by 20% this quarter", that's pretty specific.
The thing that you don't want to be specific about is the how, and the who and what involved in the how. Often the path you want to follow is not the one you should take, and the intention will want to manifest something else. Manifestic a specific business relationship would be one of these, you could stifle yourself with that intention. Intending "I will create a positive and long lasting business relationship that will drive my company forward." would be a good one because it's specific in the outcome, but not in the details.
When you put out an intention you will see all those little things get handled, the hows and the ifs, buts and maybes. The hard part to avoid is worrying about the little things, because that leads to doubt, and doubt is intention. The instant you doubt something you give it power to fail. Being on the ball, handling what needs to be handled and taking action where it's required are definately needed, but keep killing thoughts like "I don't think/know if this will work." You can be unsure, that's fine, just don't be doubtful. The difference is that being unsure just is lack of knowledge, being doubtful is actively thinking it might not work. Deal with what you can, and don't worry/doubt about what you can't deal with.
As for me, I manifested the job I wanted after I gave up the disempowering thought that I could never get one, or that I never want one. I've also manifested many smaller events, but none that stick out. Perhaps I have to start creating some really big Intentions.
I'm going to go do that.
