I think lots of sensitive people also shut down their intuitive and psychic abilities in childhood. We're just not taught how to deal with energetic information. This certainly happened to me, and I had to "learn" or rather "re-learn" how to be psychic.

Most of all, intuitive and psychic development takes PRACTICE. There's lots of good books out there (I'll plug my own: Unlock Your Intuition) but all of them require that we put in some level of conscious effort.
