NightSpirit,
I wanted to see what you think about another matter.
In Theology on Thursday, the professor used Matthew 16:18-19:
Quote:
Matthew 16:18-19 (NIV)
[18] And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. [19] I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

to say that the Catholic church is infallible because God would not allow anything false to be taught within it.
What do you think of this? I mean, I don't really believe that myself, just because of the horrible, horrible things the Catholic Church has done in the past, that I know for a fact God was not behind.
Oh, he also said that since this power was given to Peter, that only his successors would have the same power, who they say were the various popes throughout history.
