Somewhere in your practice, you want something to connect with who you are, the silence within. Be that inquiry or meditation or whatever practice through which you find silence. Also note that you cannot try to meditate. That is not true meditation. Same with any other practice. The only reason trying will bring you to silence is in exhausting the mind. It can be easier.
The inner journey is a path of allowing, of opening to what is. Any trying means you have fallen back into mind. |
Davidya,
You are a kind and gentle soul. I don't know if you are a man or a woman, but I bet you're beautiful either way. I feel kinship because of your quiet posts. I've always said I'm extremely simpleminded - most people think I'm self-deprecating because of that, but you know what I mean, I'm sure.
I do understand about the "trying" part, really I do. My better half knows that - it's just that words get in the way a lot. Physically i'm about as rough a character as you'll see...but I grew that carapace for protection when I thought I needed it. Now I feel like a flower opening to the sun. It's indescribable.
Thank you for paying attention to me, it means a lot. May your kindness and love return to you ten times tenfold. My heart feels full to overflowing tonight and I'm sending it to you across the continent - I hope you feel it.
Peace to you, my friend.
