If I got a billion dollars from Bill Gates, I would want to donate it all to the destitute nations of today. Basically, build nice things for them. Not sure what, but definitely something they would appreciate in accordance to their culture. It would have to be carefully established based on the most state-of-the-art knowledge and talking with people there to see.
