whenever we experience something it is created by our own filters and ideas. So an idea or psychic experience comes into your mind but before it comes into the conscious mind we distort these ideas based on our filters.
In terms of a reading, information comes in intutively and because each of us have diferent fiters/beleifs and ideas, we could interprete the information very differently. The key to getting reliable infromation from beyond the five senses is to clear out your limiting ideas about what you are experiencing and allow the information to come into the conscious mind with as little distortion as possible.
I will give you an example. Spirit guides and helpers are common for those experiencing the more spiritual side of life and it is no co-incidence what type or style of 'guide' you have. those who respect tha 'natural' and earthy ways would percieve their guide as a shamen or animal, those who prefer the eastern ideas may experience exactly the same 'guide' as tibetan monk, but in truth this 'guide' is none of those as he/she/it/ does not have a body: each person interprates psychic and physical information based on
their own ideas. I guarantee that with an alteration in beleif, information such as the identity of a 'guide' can change in a flash.
I am not saying 'guide' do not exist or that you cannot gain information from beyond the five sense, but there is no doubt that the information gained will be distorted by the beleifs of the perceiver.
