You can't NOT fulfill your purpose. You are a cell in a "body" (the earth and then the galaxy and then the universe and so on and so on) that is much larger and complex than you are, and it would be impossible for you to understand the larger picture with 100% clarity.
Like a fish swimming through the water, you will leave ripples no matter what, and those ripples, no matter how small or large they are, will be your purpose!
It's like a blood cell asking itself all day long "what is my purpose?". It's purpose is to be a blood cell! And it can't really die without fulfilling that purpose.
People should really ask themselves "what am I here to LEARN?" rather than "what is my purpose". You will accomplish your purpose. But will you learn all you hoped to learn from this experience? That's what people really should ask themselves.
