Congrats on your progress, now you know improvement is always possible even if you can't see how things could possibly turn out well.
There is also freedom and liberty to consider. You are always free to choose who you are. But at a given time you may only have a certain set of liberties (courses of action) available.
Offcourse you can work to improve the available liberties over time.
