Hi marinik,
Maybe my story will provide some insight. I'm 31 years old and working in a dead end job.
I’ve been working in my full time job now for just over 5 years. I’m a mechanical engineer by trade. Over the past year I knew I wanted to quit and explore other streams of income, but I was scared.
In June I finally got the courage to hand in my resignation. Now I didn’t know how this was all going to turn out, so I figured that I would just hand in my letter of resignation and that would be that. In the meantime I would have to figure out a way to put food on the table.
While I was speaking with the president of the company I work for, he was very supportive of my new business ideas. He thought it was great. He also said that he would help me out and provide me with a part time contract position while I got my business up and running. I was surprised when I heard this.
I’ve made arrangements to work 2 days a week as a consultant. My new hourly rate is going to be 3 times the rate I’m currently paid as a salary employee. Granted, this new hourly rate will not include benefits, a pension plan, vacation days, or any of the other fun things that come with a job, and I’m ok with that.
My first day of Freedom will be November 1, 2008. Now I can put food on the table and still build my blog and coaching business, Freedom Education.
In June of this year I was at a seminar in Toronto with Bob Proctor. It was in Bob's seminar that I finally made the tough decision to resign from my job.
Marinik, to be completely honest, I think that's the source of it all: You have to decide to quit. That one decision will start to move unseen forces into place for your future.
