I feel the pressure specially on the difficult I sent to concentrate (reading, creative thinking, etc) not so much on the physical side. I found though that physical fatigue much interfer with your emotional performance. So I found out that I tend to be more negative and frustated toward life when I am tired and unrested.
I know physical exercice reduces substancially the necessity of sleep. I agree with that by personal experience, but as I can see you like yoga keep in mind the word of Budha: " Everything must be balanced in life". If you want to produce nice harmonious music the strings of the playing instrument must be tuned. Not too loose, not too streched. That's the philosophy I try to follow on my everyday life.
On the other side, we must sometimes push our limits or we will not develop. On my personal experience I know that is true on physical exercise. If I don't push a little everyday I keep always the same rythm.
I think the secret is to find your own balance. Since it is different for everybody it is difficult to find a general rule and that's why so many fail to find it. I think the key is to find it within yourself!

Keep going, never give up! Good luck!
I decided to go as fast as can go without crossing the limits of my performance. Sooner or later I will hit the wall but till then progress is much faster than I had thought off. When ever I'll hit the wall then I'll use strategy of "Progressive adaptation".. that's the genius of body. That's how people have conquered Mt.Everest, Michael Phelps have won 8 gold medals, Memory champions use this idea to improve their memory.
In this strategy you stretch just beyond your comfort zone without crossing your real performance limits. For example. In running it's called 10 PERCENT RULE.. "You never increase your mileage and pace more than 10% than previous week" Increase of mileage and pace more than 10% spells ENJURY.
But nowadays It's comfortable and enjoyable for me to almost increase mileage by 40 to 60 % daily ! I will go as far as I can go without enjury. That's my first priority.

For the philosophical point of view, I follow Buddha's saying.. "Follow your own path, Be your own lamp, Do not believe just because you have said to believe." Learning and growing is one of my value. I learn, experiments with what experts have said and I do what's right for me to do.

One big reason for this challenge is that I want to give myself a gift on my b'day.. It's in the next month.
