Statements are only as good as the emotion and motivation behind them.
What you want to do is literally visualize, in your head, repeatedly, the experience of enjoying your interactions with others, enjoying being public places, etc. Make it so real in your mind that you "trick" your mind into thinking it's real. Once that's happened, you will be more comfortable socially.
But the image of you being comfortable socially, has to be more real to you than the image of being anxious. It's a challenge. Think of all the mental movies you run in your head every day that have something to do with being scared or worrying about other people. You have to replace them ALL.
