No, I'm not in the US. I come from a country where arranged marraiges are the norm. I grew up in another country in a town that wasn't very open either.
I hope you don't confuse between arranged and forced marraiges. An arranged marraige is one where I get introduced to the girls through my folks- but the girl, her family is pre-approved by my folks - and usually to thier tastes but not usually mine. But in the end the decision to get married to her is completely mine. though the pressure would be on from my folks side to approve.
