A conversational block
Hello there forums. Long time reader, first time poster here.
No, seriously, I've grown so frustrated with my social skills that I decided to finally post here. I've never been much for being...talkative about my short comings, but you're all some pretty great people and I'd like your opinions.
I've always had a problem with conversations, it's more than just being shy around people. Even when I'm completely comfortable with people I can never think of anything to say. It's like, they talk to me and no matter what I can never think of anything to say back other than some short non-committal answer or something simple like that.
Worse yet, I'll find myself repeating the conversation later in my head when I'm alone and giving great answers that I didn't even think about at the time. I was wondering if there was some way of...improving my conversing skills. I've never needed a lot of friends, but I'm starting college soon and I'd just like to be able to communicate in a competent way. Like I do on the internet, I'm very chatty through a computer.
