Ask yourself why you want it in the first place. If it's for status or approval of other people, then it definitely goes in the same category as materialistic things. Also, we tend to build things up in our head and when we actually have them we realize that they weren't what were built up to be. We tend to fantasize and make an unrealistic expectation. This leads to feeling disappointed.
