( how luggage survived, I dont know) I saw two different vivid photos that stuck in my mind. Almost ten years later, 9/11 happened. A couple of weeks after 9/11 I watched a show on the plane that had crashed in a field that day, and they showed some photos of the people on the plane.
Interesting. I too had a dream about the 9/11 incident on the same morning. In fact, while I was still dreaming my mother ran to my room and said "The World Trade Center just got hit by a plane! Come and see the news."

And I remember saying, "I know, mom" and attempted to go back to sleep. I was in that state of understanding that there was nothing I could physically do to help and that was "Alright" for me.

However, my mother did drag me out of bed anyways. >.<

Anyway, is there any terminology that fits these things? Is there maybe excercises or techniques to hone in on it?
It's called being you. The only technique is to listen to yourself. You're obviously doing something right so keep at it. Keep to a dream journal and sit back with your thoughts. Don't freak if you see bad things happen. It's there to help you adjust for what's to come.

Sure it -could- possibly be stopped in time, but you don't have to kill yourself trying to get to the other end of the world to try and stop what may just be the inevitable calamity you've no chance of changing.

And honestly, don't use labels. They will only restrict you and your dreaming as you may try to dream up disasters every night to predict them yet forget about careless dreams that are just there for fun and growth.
