Default Need help and advice on becoming more sociable

Hi all, I am a new member on this forum. Let me introduce myself, My name is Amit, I am 19 years old, from Birmingham, England.

I started this thread becuase I need help and advice on becoming more sociable and talkative in groups. I use to have speech impediment which dented my confidence greatly, which I became shy, timid and reserved just becuase of that. I was scared to speak. My speech has now become much better and I've opened up a bit, I've made a lot of freinds, however, I am still reserved. I'm very good at talking to people of one on one or even two and one. But I've got difficulty talking in groups. Its not that I don't want to talk, its just that I sometimes think I wont be heard, or if I say something it might be irrelevant or they'll just ignore it. I'm soft spoken as well. I hope the members here understand, its just like a lads night out in the pub, 7 boys, and I'm one of them who is reserved and don't know what to say, or even when to speak, while the rest are all talking and going on and on.

Thanks in advance,
Amit
