What I do find facinating is people with mental illness, who are on these highs are able to do amazing things because they let go of all their inhibitions. My dad did things that he would of being able to do if he was in a normal state. The amount of friends he made on his highs were amazing. I think there is a lot to be learned from people that on "highs", I think it would be a facinating research area. |
I , while under what the shrinks call a manic episode put myself in a shelter for a week, the wildest thing is, while I was at this womens shelter... MET some of thee most beautiful authentic souls I have ever met.... These women had nothing!! they were raw, broken but at the same time they were so real!!! these ladies showed me just by their being, how pretentiousness is so blinding to real love which led to my first real ephinay of just how our minds and all our filters of labeling and discreminations and prejudices seperate us all.....
when you are manic, you are "open" your filters do disolve.... and you see the world through a pure state .. everything is one..you are one with everything........ and you are totally alive, there is no labels no prejudice none of the ego filters are there .... it is awsome
but you can never go back to the person you use to be , you are changed forever after an experience like this............
I think your dad would understand exactly what I am saying
