Well let me tell you it happened to everyone. The eternal internal dilemma. Well I just wanna say that it is 100% normal to feel that way. Now I don’t know about meditating, but I know a 5 step approach that might help you. It worked with me. All you have to do is make your unconscious, conscious.
In order to attract things or get rid of the negative energy you need to go through 5 main steps:

1. Know what you don’t want
2. Select what you would like to have, do or be
3. Get clear
4. FEEL how exciting to have do or be
5. Let go

I know what ever I said is not related to meditating, but this might help you more. You never know.
